Doshu Yoshigasaki will be teaching again in Scotland this year between the 7th and 9th September. This will be the 30th year that Doshu has been teaching in Scotland. Instructors from the London Ki Aikido club will be attending the course this year.
Details of that seminar can be found on the British Ki Society website.
The Alness dojo was opening of the dojo in 1987 by Mr Ken Williams. Here is a video of the seminar that accompanied that event.
The Children’s class, which usually runs on Sunday evening between 5:30-7:00 will be having a break for the next two weeks.
There will be no class on
- Sunday 27th May 2018
- Sunday 3rd June 2018
We will resume practise again on Sunday 10th June.
Here is an excerpt from Tohei Sensei’s Book of Ki where he relays his first encounter with Ueshiba Morihei
‘The students attacked him and were easily thrown. It looked fake. Then Master Ueshiba turned to me and said, “Take off your jacket and attack me.” I tried to grab him, but the next thing I knew, I was lying on the mats. I could not figure out how I had been thrown. I had not felt force applied to any part of my body. Had he done so, I would have able to think of a defence, but I had felt no force at all.’
Thank you, Heidelberg Ki Aikido Club for hosting another great seminar with Doshu Yoshigasaki at your excellent Dojo in Leimen. As usual, the German hospitality was very generous and coupled with Sensei’s thought-provoking course led to a great weekend.
Sensei will be in Heidelberg again at the end of September. His itinerary for the year can be found here.
I have seen some Aikido look a bit plastic but this takes it to a new level.
I have been travelling religiously to the Coventry seminar with Sensei Burgess for over twenty years now. My wife can testify that I have preferred the enthusiasm of the Coventry dojo over many a social engagement over the years.
The classes take place the second Saturday of every month at the Coventry Dojo from 1pm-5pm and cost £20.00.
Visitors are always welcome.
The club will be closed for a couple of weeks over the Christmas break.
The last day for the Farringdon club will be 19th December. We will be starting at our new venue at the Deli Studios in Broadgate on the 9th January
The adults class in Ruislip will run until the 21st December. We start again on the 4th January next year. The children’s class will run until the 17th December this year. It will restart on the 7th January
